Joan T. Moore Scholarship
The members of the League of Women Voters of Melrose, together with the family and friends of Joan T. Moore, created a scholarship in her name. After raising five children and giving many years of community service, the late Ms. Moore, a long-time member of the Melrose League of Women Voters, earned her bachelor’s degree in history and government at the University of Massachusetts at Boston. Joan Moore was the second woman elected to the Melrose Board of Aldermen. She represented Ward Four from 1976 until 1979 and served on the Board of Directors of the Melrose League for eight years and as League President 1978-79.
Melrose High School graduates who wish to continue their personal and professional growth by returning to school after a time away from formal education are eligible to apply.
Applications are available in the new year at the Melrose Public Library or by downloading the attached form.
