Sponsorship and Sponsorship Time Frames – Adjust Sponsorship Amounts
- Presentation of new letter with two sponsorship levels
Discussion:
Can candidates or parties can be approached for sponsorships – we can ask state office, however it was remarked that this may have, if not the appearance of political favoritism, the smell of it.
Rolling Sponsorship Time Frames: In addition to letter with two levels, we will set a rolling time period for sponsorship. They will last one year and will be tracked on excel spreadsheet by both treasurer and steering committee. They will be reviewed at monthly meetings.
We will have a rolling sponsorship
- Motion to move to accept new letter with increased sponsorship amounts and rolling sponsorship time frames. Seconded.
- Accepted Unanimously
Action Items:
- Susan will check the letter to find out what the number on it represents and will also find out the number needed for tax exemption.
- Sister Stephanie will solicit several Melrose shops for sponsorship after this number is established.
- Joyce will also work with a potential local sponsor.
- Susan and Maureen will solicit banks.
By-Law Changes:
Anne went through the by-law changes required by the LWVMA and LWVUS and the changes made to reflect current practice.
Discussion: Thanks to Anne for her efforts
- Anne offered motion to move to accept by-law changes. Maureen Seconded

Archives Project
Most of the documents and photos have been digitized. Susan Baron will be looking into creating a web page “front” so that these can be accessed in more user-friendly manner.
Joan Moore Scholarship:
Winner of the Joan Moore Scholarship for 2022 is Madeline Kozlowski.
Discussion: Due to lack of applications for this scholarship, we used the provision to have the Melrose Permanent Scholarship Fund award this scholarship.
-
- We have been asked to redouble efforts to award this directly to a person going back to college. Anne will check with library about promoting applications
