The League of Women Voters of Melrose is being recognized by the City of Melrose on the occasion of its 70th anniversary. The Board of Aldermen will present the League with a Resolution honoring the organization and its achievements at its meeting on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 7:45 pm. All current and former League members are encouraged to attend to represent the League and to celebrate this milestone.
Please join us in the Aldermen’s Chamber on the first floor of City Hall at that time to honor the League for the work it has done. The League has been instrumental in the creation of many City institutions; among them the Martin Luther King celebration, the Human Rights Commission and the Melrose Alliance Against Violence. It’s been a driving force for other initiatives over the years, such as recycling, and it has faithfully held voter registration drives, candidates forums, and informational panels on contested issues since its inception.
We look forward to the recognition of the League and its members who have worked so hard over the years. Please spread the word to former members. Come and celebrate as a League member and supporter.
